Day 10: Blessing in the Wilderness
Ancient biblical texts did not come with title pages. As such, the titles for books of the Bible arose in different ways. Greeks gave books titles based upon their content. Hence, in the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures, the fourth book of the Torah was given the title, “Numbers.” It does, after all, contain a lot of numbers.
