The book of Joshua, with its bloodshed and its conquests, is a tough book to reconcile with other parts of the Bible. It is certainly a book that at times offends modern ears. A discussion about just how we should interpret these violent passages is a necessary discussion for the church but one that’s a little beyond what I can accomplish in this brief post.
